USCIS requires that any document submitted in a language other than English be accompanied by a complete English translation and a signed certificate from a competent translator. The certificate must state that the translation is accurate and complete to the best of the translator's ability and knowledge.
Beyond USCIS, certified translations are required for: federal and state court filings in immigration and family law cases, academic credential evaluation for US universities, professional license applications in regulated fields, employment background checks that require foreign documents, and some banking and real estate transactions involving foreign parties.
Every certified translation we produce follows the same process: document review, translation by an ATA-certified translator with experience in the specific document type, proofreading by a second linguist, and attachment of our signed certificate of accuracy. The certificate identifies the translator by name, states their qualifications, and certifies the completeness and accuracy of the translation.
We do not use uncertified general translators for certified documents. ATA certification requires passing a rigorous exam and maintaining ongoing professional development. Every translator on our certified roster has passed the ATA exam in the relevant language pair.

This is not a guarantee on every future submission, because acceptance depends on many factors beyond the translation itself. However, it reflects our consistent adherence to USCIS guidelines and our experience with the specific formats and language requirements that immigration officers expect to see.
A certified translation includes a signed certificate from the translator attesting to accuracy. Notarization adds a notary public signature verifying the identity of the certifying translator. USCIS typically requires certified, not notarized. Some courts and state agencies require notarization. We advise on which your specific submission needs.
